A once in a lifetime experience in at-home tea making!
Description
In this course, we'll reveal how you can make your own tea at home! We will be using low-cost household items to create unique black and green teas. Experience the process from start to finish, from plucking to cup, and dive into Louisiana's budding tea culture. Come away with a newfound respect for tea processing and some tea you made yourself for sharing with friends and family! *Please bring your own lunch (lunch will not be provided).* Recommended age: 13+ Itinerary: 9:00-9:30 am: Introduction, with tea & treats 9:30-10:45 am: Tour of our tea fields, hands-on tea plucking 10:45-11:45 am: Hands-on black tea rolling, start of withering/oxidation 11:45-12:45 pm: Lunch (bring your own) 12:45-1:30 pm: Hands-on green tea roasting, black tea drying 1:30-2:00 pm: Hands-on green tea rolling 2:00-3:00 pm: Green tea drying/tea & snack break 3:00-3:30 pm: Hands-on packaging 3:30-5:00 pm: Tea tasting/assessment, conclusion *Note: Some parts of the class may run longer or shorter, so you can expect to finish anywhere between 3:30-5:00 pm *Ticket price does not include tax.
